Hunger Relief Project: Nourishing Lives, Building Futures
Can you imagine a child going to school without breakfast or a lunchbox?
For most of us, it is unimaginable. Yet for many children in our country, this is a daily reality.
Thousands of children begin their day on an empty stomach, without access to nutritious food or basic necessities required for a healthy life.
This is not just a situation—it is a lived experience.
Meet Azaad, an 11-year-old boy.
He lost his father when he was just five years old. Since then, his mother has been raising three children alone, working as a daily wage laborer.
Some days, she finds work. Some days, she returns home empty-handed.
“For one meal, my mother and I work the whole day… but not every day we get work.” — Azaad
To support the family, Azaad and his brother often accompany their mother to work.
Every morning, Azaad walks to school without eating anything.
“When I sit in class, I feel weak… I just wait for the mid-day meal.” — Azaad
Like many children, he depends on the government school meal—but it is often not enough to meet his nutritional needs.
“Sometimes, that is the only food we get in the whole day.” — Azaad
Azaad’s story is not unique.
In areas like Kharikabad and Loyabad, hundreds of children are growing up without:
- Adequate nutrition
- Proper healthcare
- Basic living support
“We want to study… but hunger makes it very hard.” — A child from the community
Many children are facing serious health issues, including malnutrition, weakness, and lack of concentration in school.
“We didn’t just see hunger… we saw children losing their chance to learn.”
To address this urgent need, we have started a focused community initiative.
- Daily evening tuition classes to support education
- A nutritious meal served after class
- Supporting 350 children every day across two locations
“Now I wait for evening… because I know I will get food.” — Azaad
This effort ensures that children not only learn, but also receive the nutrition they need to grow.
Why Your Support Matters
Providing meals for 350 children every day is a continuous challenge.
At the same time, food wastage is a reality we see around us.
“The food we waste could be someone’s only meal.”
“Cooking for 350 children every day is not easy, but seeing them eat with a smile makes every effort worth it.”
— Kitchen Staff
