Education and Nutrition for a Better Tomorrow

“A child cannot learn on an empty stomach… and yet, for many, hunger is a daily reality.”

In a remote area, far from the reach of basic infrastructure, lies a community where access to education is almost non-existent. Over 300 families live here, most of whom depend on daily wage labor for survival.

For these families, life is uncertain.

“If we get work today, we eat. If not… even the children sleep hungry.”

This area is located near a mining zone, where the environment is heavily polluted with dust. As a result, children frequently suffer from:

• Breathing problems
• Poor health conditions
• Malnutrition

In this single community, there are nearly 500–600 children who lack access to:

• Education
• Nutritious food
• Basic care and facilities

For the past four years, Sahadeva Foundation has been working tirelessly to support these children by providing:

• Free education
• Nutritious meals
• Basic necessities

“Now, I come to study… and I know I will also get food.” — A child from the center

Many of the children we serve come from extremely challenging backgrounds.

• Some are differently abled
• One child cannot speak or hear
• A young girl in our center has lost both her parents

Despite these hardships, they come every day with the hope of learning and building a better future.

Why Nutrition Matters

We began our journey with a focus on education. However, we soon realized a critical truth:

“Education alone is not enough when a child is hungry.”

Children were unable to concentrate, often weak and exhausted due to lack of proper nutrition.

This led us to expand our efforts by including daily nutritious meals as a core part of our program.

Our goal is simple:
To ensure that every child receives both education and proper nutrition, so they can grow, learn, and thrive.
